Core of the Coalman: Kilometric Chameleon POV
You can get actual real cassettes from me (send me a DM) available soonly (when I get back from this weeks tour in support of the release)!
These tracks were recorded between 2014–2025 or so. They come from live performances in Finland (for example at Nykytaidetila Kutomo and Galerie Titanik in Turku), from the Zoo in San Antonio, Texas, and a thunderstorm behind Kotevní street in Prague, Czech Republic, and some other places. In my memory the distance and time between these places merge together as they do on this record. Memory measured in light seconds: distance (between synapses) measured in time, or an instance of interdimensional parallax measured in parsecs: explode this out to vast distances and deep time.
Kilometric Chameleon POV has to do with “liveness” and what happens to that when it gets remembered later on. The title refers to chameleon’s eyes and the way chameleons vanish into their environment by merging with its colour and light. The eyes of the chameleons can be moved independently and widely, offering an almost 360-degree panoptical view. They are so much part of their environment that they blend into it and most things can't see them, but meanwhile they see everything panopticon of consciousness. What kind of live show are they experiencing from that POV?
