Distinct Mirror Music double CD cardboard package
This Invitation is a Brooklyn-based experimental rock ensemble founded by Warren Ng and Casey Farnum that combines aspects of minimalism, drone, and noise in elliptical song forms and expanded improvised structures. The double-disc cd "Sunless / Ellipses, Lapses, and Collapses," their second full length release, explores landscapes of memory and regret and the notion of sunlessness as a condition of being through the album's dense layers of glistening and dreamlike intertwining guitars, bowed and scraped strings, analogue drones, haunted piano keys, and whispered vocals.
Guitarist Ng also has two simultaneously released double-disc recordings of free-form guitar drone instrumental works under the name Somnambulists: "At Daybreak the First Greyness to Emerge" (2010) and "The Invisible Score" (2010).
